Queens Gardens Wedding Photography

Karly and Garry were married in the beautiful grounds of Queens Gardens in East Perth just over 1 year ago! An incredibly sunny, green and lush venue you couldn’t ask for anywhere more beautiful to commit your love to one another. My day started off with the gentlemen for preparation, always a favorite for how laid back and relaxed they are (usually with a few bevvies!). Following this, bridal preparation with the ladies and some VERY proud parents, even wiping away a tear upon seeing their stunning daughter in her dress!

The ceremony brought tears to the eyes of many, as Garry personally pledged his love to Karly’s son. Who was included in every way in the ceremony of love!

Karly didn’t leave anything to chance with her wedding day, perfectly planning every single detail including having her bridesmaid dresses custom made so that they not only were exactly what she dreamed, but so that they fit perfectly! The incredible setup and flowers were by the always wonderful Mariana from The Wedding Place, filled with stunning deep pinks and greens. These perfectly complimented their reception venue, the elegant Rambla on Swan.

An absolutely amazing wedding day, I wish you all the absolute happiness together with your adorable son <3

Read out to find out more about Meggan & Shane’s Matilda Bay Wedding Photography story!

Our day started at the Westin Hotel in the city with Meggan and her girls while my 2nd photographer Luke hung out with Shane and their guests at Matilda Bay – which included some very friendly swans! The preparation was super chill with a delicious grazing plate that one of Meg’s beautiful bridesmaids put together for her! The view out the window was breathtaking, and if I’m being honest very daunting if you stood right against the glass and looked straight down.

Food played a very important role on the day, from Meg snacking on Pringles and Cheezels during her prep, to the donut tower in place of a wedding cake! Our morning went perfectly thanks to the talented hair and makeup artists, who joined in on the laughs throughout – making the vibe for the day super fun and relaxed. Such a calming atmosphere!

After the final touches, some photos, a few more snacks and some well-earned selfies, I snuck away to get the venue ahead of them.

The plan was to do a “first look” with Meg’s Dad a little distance away from the ceremony location so that no one else could see them! Such a touching moment before the two walked down the aisle and a great idea to do with family members or your significant other before it all gets crazy.

Shane stood proudly underneath the fig tree on the riverbank, flanked by his handsome groomsmen and their 2 dogs! First, the stunning bridesmaids made their way slowly down to take their place. Followed by an emotional Meg and her beaming father. The walk from the car wasn’t short, but thankfully it was all downhill and the wait really added to the moment!

The beautiful ceremony was officiated by their friend Toby and the rings were presented by another friend, Dave. I didn’t realise until the moment Dave stood between the two of them that I knew him. I had photographed Dave’s wedding in the past so was surprised to see him standing up there!

Following the ceremony were some quick congratulations as the sun was setting and we wanted to make the most of the beautiful golden hour glow. Luke and the guests walked the short distance up to the Bayside Kitchen where the reception was being held while we took the chance to capture some wedding party portraits – including our guests of honour, their two pooches who stole the show!

Their reception was a super lowkey cocktail event, focusing on being able to mingle with their guests in between the hilarious and emotional speeches!

Such an incredible wedding to be a part of, thank you both for choosing me to be a part of it <3

“Gemma was the photographer for our wedding in April and did an amazing job! She was so great at keeping in contact in the lead up, answering my million questions and, on the wedding day, was 100% professional. I barely noticed her there but she captured some amazing shots and we couldn’t be happier. Thanks Gemma! 💕

Amanda & Greg Conti’s Winery Wedding Photography

Amanda and Greg were married in the beautiful green gardens behind Conti’s restaurant. Amanda surprised Greg with a Hummer limo as their wedding car! What a sight!

Amanda walked down the aisle arm in arm with her Father, and wore a very unique and beautiful blue gown. A very intimate wedding with their nearest and dearest, it was a beautiful sweet and quick ceremony that overflowed with love and joy as two became one!  After lots of hugs and kisses and as the sun set over the gardens and the vines of the winery, I stole the couple away from their guests to capture a few portraits of them together with the golden light washing over them. Then it was on to the reception which was held at the same grounds. They opted for one long table for everyone to be seated at and a stunning blue cake made by Memories by Tizi’s Cakes. Such a stunning blue that matched Amanda’s dress!

The night was filled with chatter, laughter and many toasts – before I left the happy couple and their loved ones to enjoy their feast! I hope you both have a wonderful life together <3

Angela & Milan Mandurah Quay Resort Wedding Photography

Angela and Milan were married on a beautiful sunny day at the Mandurah Quay Resort surrounded by their loved ones and their adorable little son! A bottle of home made Kombucha was passed around by the guests as a wedding tradition and their celebrant even had a little nip!

A very emotional ceremony during which the celebrant read part of in English and German, as Angelas parents, who were visiting from Germany didn’t speak much English. Watching her proud Fathers eye welling up with tears of happiness as his beautiful daughter said her vows to Milan was such a precious moment.

Their vows were sealed with the mixing of sands, a keepsake forever to commemorate their wedding day! After the ceremony, and many, many emotional hugs and congratulations from their guests we spent some time as the sun got lower on the horizon walking around the waters edge for their bridal portraits. What a spectacular day!

Wishing you both all the very best in the next stage of your lives together!
